Origins 2007, Part 2

Over a year behind, so what else is new? Maybe time will eventually *lap* me and I'll be ahead. Or not.

Origins 2007, Part 1

I've been back from Origins for just over a week and dying to write about it. Having a house full of teenagers (2 is a full-house, especially if you're not used to it) kept my too busy to write about Origins. They're gone now, and I've got time to collect my thoughts.

Chaosium v. Gencon

Biggest news in the gaming world this past week or so has been the spat between Gencon LLC and Chaosium. The situation seems to be resolved even though there's still no official word on what it was about.

Anycon 2

Anycon 2006 (our 2nd annual "mini-con") was held Sep 2-4 at the Graysville, PA VFD. A total of 14 attendees (2 more than last year -- 16% growth!) enjoyed a long weekend of board, card, miniature, and role playing games. This year's Werewolf hunt was somewhat shorter than last year's but no less vicious. (I'd like the record to reflect that I was NOT a werewolf. Mostly I was just a mangled corpse.)

Among the many cool games played were: Pompeii, Formula De, Heroscape, Thurn and Taxis, Shadows over Camelot, and the ever popular Die Sieben Siegel. We also had an outrageously fun session of "Bungle in the Jungle," one of my 1920's Call of Cthulhu scenarios.

We've already reserved the hall for next year; Anycon 2007 will be held Sep 1-3 at the Graysville VFD.
